Prague & Budapest 2014
In the summer of 2014, my family joined a Rick Steves city tour for a seven-day visit to Prague and Budapest. We hadn't been on a big family vacation in a few years, so when the opportunity came, we took it! My sister Becky and I were tired of hearing about the tours my parents took and ready to travel too! We chose Prague and Budapest because it fit our timeframe, and because my dad's family is Hungarian. Visiting Hungary is something we've talked about for several years.
Prague
Budapest
Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic. It's a city of about 1.25 million people, in the northwestern part of the country. Prague has a mix of architectural styles and offers many cultural events.
Budapest straddles the Danube River in northern Hungary. The capital city has a population of about 1.75 million people. Budapest has had a turbulent history of invasion and takeover but also has a strong sense of national pride.
